Holiday Dinner Beverages

Category: Holiday Meals | Difficulty: Easy

Hot Apple Cider

I don't why I do this...but I love apple cider although I never drink it except at Thanksgiving. I need to not to do that, but for the holidays try serving warm apple cider. It's a calming, soothing drink in the cold weather. I like to snuggle up to hubby and sip this drink!

Buy your favorite brand from the grocery store and heat it up in the microwave, not to boiling but just to warm. Serve immediately!

Non-Alcoholic Pina Colada Slush
Difficulty: Easy

I don't drink liquor and that's because my family had had a history of alcoholism and I even fell into this trap. Thanks to God I'm far from it now. But because of that, I don't use alcohol in my dishes or drinks. Yet, I still want creativity and so I look for tropical drinks with fruits and juices that don't require liquor. If you want to serve something like this either to your kids or if you don't drink either, than this recipe is definitely for you.

Ingredients:
1 bottle daily pina colada mix
2 c. ice cream
1 lg. can pineapple juice
fresh pineapples (sliced)
cherry

Preparation:
Mix all ingredients and freeze. Serve with lemon lime, 7-Up, or Squirt soda. Add a pineapple & cherry for presentation.

I sure hope you will enjoy my menu for this year. It was fun putting it together. All these recipes have been edited by me for the way I cook, feel free to mix and match them up for your own taste. You're only limited by your imagination. The important thing to remember that we don't just serve good food but we say prayers and thanksgiving for what we have. We are blessed to be here and if you get to spend it with your family, be grateful for them. Think of our troops and people who can't get home for the holidays. When I was single before I remarried, I couldn't get home and spent a few holidays alone. I truly know what it's like and so I cherish that I have a family now to share these times with. Also, if you know a struggling family can't have a good Thanksgiving, cook one of these dishes and bring it to them. Believe me, it is so rewarding to give! Have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!
