Two Pastas for the Price of 1 & all with Bertolli Sauces

Boy do I love to receive samples from Foodbuzz's Featured Publishers Tastemakers program! I happened to be right at my computer when the email came in that Foodbuzz had partnered with Bertolli and they were asking us Featured Publishers if we wanted to try out two of their sauces, I hurried up and hit the button, filled out the request, and a couple of weeks later this lovely package showed up at my doorstep. And before I share with you how I used the sauces I must comment on how beautifully packaged everything was when I got it.

First off, it came in this lovely black box, I almost felt like they might have sent it to the wrong person cause I wasn't expecting this, it was so professional and elegant. I opened the box and on the left and right sides were six of Bertolli special recipes, the layout reminds of a high scale restaurant menu. In the center was a letter introducing the two sauces and thanking us for trying them out. I even loved the smell of the box! haa haaa!!!

Then underneath the letter are two slots for both sauces to perfectly sit in and both of them for me are the perfect combinations because hubby loves white and cheese sauces on his pasta, one of his favorites being fettuccini alfredo with or without chicken. Me...I'm the red pasta lover in the family. Tonite when I was ready to cook dinner, I quickly looked around my pantry to be sure I had enough pasta because I wanted to make two meals for us and luckily I had some thin spaghetti and more than enough for us so I was happy! It had been a long and rough day so to spend the rest of it in my kitchen put a smile on this chick's face!

Hubby took all these photos of the package and I thought I would share them with you and then below you'll see the two dishes I cooked tonite!!!!

Bertolli's Four Cheese Rosa and Arrabbiata Sauces

Now, I guess it's time I get to the real deal of this post huh? What I cooked!
First Up:

Four Cheese Turkey Pasta using
"Four Cheese Rosa" Sauce by Bertolli

Ingredients:
1 pkg. honey turkey cold cuts
1/2 box of thin spaghetti or other long pasta
1/2 bottle Bertolli Four Cheese Rosa sauce
1/2 c. Creamy Caesar dressing
dried parsley
dried italian seasonings
kosher salt
garlic pepper

Preparation:
Cook pasta in a large pot. Meanwhile to prepare the sauce, pour the four cheese sauce, caesar dressing in a large skillet and stir. Sprinkle dried parsley, italian seasonings, salt, and pepper to taste. Heat until hot on medium high and chop up the turkey and add to sauce. After the pasta is al dente, add to the sauce and carefully blend. Serve hot!! YUMMO!!

Next Up:

Spicy Chicken Pasta w/Diced Tomatoes using
"Arrabbiata" Sauce by Bertolli

Ingredients:
1/4 bag of Tyson buffalo chicken strips, baked as instructions on the bag and sliced thinly
1/2 box of thin spaghetti or other long pasta
1/2 bottle Bertolli Arrabbiata sauce
1 tbsp. Ragu pasta sauce w/meat
dried parsley
dried italian seasonings
kosher salt
garlic pepper
1 tbsp. ketchup
1 can Hunts roasted garlic diced tomatoes
cayenne pepper sauce

Preparation:
Cook pasta in a large pot. Meanwhile to prepare the sauce, pour the Arrabbiata sauce, romano dressing, Ragu, and ketchup in a large skillet and stir. Add dried parsley, italian seasonings, salt and pepper to taste. Add cooked pasta, chicken, and carefully blend well. Top with cayenne pepper sauce for an extra kick as much as you like.

I'm actually eating my dish as I type this post and hubby finished his plate an hour ago!!! He raved how good it was and how creamy the Bertolli sauce is. I was really glad because you always want your meal to taste good when you're feeding more than just yourself. Mine was spicy and good and the extra cayenne pepper sauce, the buffalo chicken, and the Arrabbiata sauce made my mouth hot but I love it, but of course you can eliminate the cayenne sauce or back it off if you're not a hot and spicy gal like me! Hee hee!! But the Bertolli Arrabbiata sauce is a combination of red peppers and spicy tomatoes so matching that with the cayenne really packs a punch. I made enough for seconds tomorrow night! Bertolli you came to my rescue!

I know these two dishes are not complex gourmetish meals, but I do like easy recipes and both dishes took me just one hour to make! Can you believe that? I'm telling you the truth though - as much as I love to cook, I don't enjoy hours sweating over a hot stove!! :D

Thanks again to my hubby for the photos, Foodbuzz for the Bertolli Sauces, and you guys for reading my crazy posts!!! Cheers!

Thanks so much girl, the sauces are amazing and I was looking to do something simple but still look good on the plate so I chose the honey turkey, besides that - it was in my frig! hee hee

You are so funny! Yes please be on the lookout for both sauces cause they really add a flair to the pasta and I bet they'd work good on shrimp or other seafood too!

  5. As an Italian, I am genetically disposed to hating bottled sauces, Kim. But, I must admit, Bertolli makes a pretty good product.Of course, I would never serve it as is poured over pasta but I do like it in pasta fagiolle because you add onions, garlic, celery, stock, etc.

so glad to meet a new Foodbuzz foodie! Thanks for visiting me and I agree with you, I love cheese! Now... some cheeses don't love me back! haa haaa LOL

    Response to Joe Ambrosino:
I can understand what you're saying and like you I like to add other spices with the sauce too like I did with these two dishes, of course I'm not Italian but Italian food is my favorite cuisine so as an American I try to use the herbs and ingredients I really like and sometimes I like to add spicy herbs like chili powder or cayenne pepper cause I do like a little kick! But I'm glad you commented and I'll be sure to keep up with you! :)
