My name's Kim and I've always loved to cook! I made my first meal at age 12 for my mom, it was spaghetti and meatballs, she loved it! Since then, I've always cooked for myself and now my hubby! To me, if you know how to cook you'll always be in good shape with being able to eat good. Ordinary Recipes Made Gourmet was built to celebrate my love for food and for my mom who didn't like to cook and without knowing it, she taught me. She was a great lady!

Over the years, I've gone back through all my recipes updating them to suit my taste buds now that I'm much older! LOL! But also because I have to watch my diet a little more closely, I had to rethink the way I had been cooking all those years. I love the challenge! I enjoy being creative in the kitchen coming up with new ideas for recipes and trying them out on my hubby! He can't complain cause he doesn't cook!

In my spare time, when I have it - I love to paint and illustrate on my computer. I don't get to work on my art gallery all that much but it's ok because I do it for me and not for a living. By trade, I'm a graphics person and web designer - I work from our home studio with hubby and I keep pretty busy with my clients' deadlines! I wish I could blog full time but it's just not possible right now, but a girl can dream!

Other things I like to do in my free time is watch old movies, hang out with hubby, I follow tennis, golf, NASCAR, Formula 1/Rally driving, and I love to create things. I dabbled in making greeting cards at one point and I do crochet from time to time. I have 2 weekly prayer meetings which I absolutely couldn't live without - I love the Lord and I love to pray! No matter how busy I get, I find time for prayer!

My favorite movies are Enter the Dragon, although it is too violent, I can't help being captivated by Bruce Lee and my other favorite movie is The Big Sleep because I love the combination of Bogie and Bacall. I'm a HUGE trekky fan, own almost all the movies and all the Star Trek TV shows on tape! I watch them over and over and never get tired of them!

Well now you know a little bit about me, I hope you'll enjoy my blog as I try to illustrate how much fun cooking is and that anyone can make a meal gourmet with just a little imagination and some everyday ingredients!
